I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima Grand Tour low, roof mounted cargo box. And this is an excellent way, guys, of getting your snowboards and your skis and a little bit of extra cargo with you to your trips. Now, why I say that, you can see we have a nice, low profile design here, which is excellent. However, that can make it a pain to start getting some of your more bulky luggage in the top here. So probably not gonna be your go-to for just cargo management. If that's your main play, I would look at something like the Yakima Sky Box or the Yakima Grand Tour. And that way you're just getting a little bit more room, for those bigger cargo options. Now, this is excellent though for your snowboards and your skis. It does boast up to a 215 centimeter ski and snowboard fit, which is great. And one thing I really liked about it because it's so long, you know, sometimes you have an issue with those bindings not wanting to sit right together. It's really easy to walk one ski that way the other that way, and then all of a sudden, they fit, which is really cool to see. Now, we do have a durable ABS plastic on here with a nice automotive finish. So do like the look of it, Yakima well known for always looking good, which is great to see. Now, it is gonna be 91 inches long on your exterior. So you can see quite a lot of length. Today, I just have it on a Toyota RAV4 to give you guys an idea of how it looks. So, you know, pretty standard smaller SUV, which is great. And I think that's primarily where you're gonna see these guys on. You know, sedans or anything like that, just probably gonna be too little to actually fit on, just because you're probably gonna start interacting with your vision towards the front, or you're gonna have too much hanging off the back end. It probably wouldn't look quite as good. Now, one thing to keep in mind, always wanna to have the room for that hatch to open up, but I really, really do like how this guy works. Now it is gonna add 37 inches of width to your roof as well. So, on your SUVs and your smaller guys, probably not gonna have enough room on the other side for any other accessories. But, that's not the end of the world. With the Grand Tour low, we actually have the ability of opening at both sides of our cargo box. And that becomes really nice when you wanna load something up or, you know, you have something on the other side that you have to reach across to. And you know, I'm six one, so it's a little easier for me to get up on top here and start accessing my cargo box. But for others out there, it's not that easy, especially going to the other side. So I do love that we have that secondary option. Now, talking more about that low profile design. We do have a 15 cubic feet inside, allowing us to carry a decent amount of cargo. Albeit, like I said, not great for your bigger items. But 165 pounds of weight capacity is excellent for this. That's gonna be your standard weight capacity for a lot of roof racks out there. So that's always an important thing to check. And, of course, your own vehicle's owners manual guide to make sure we're not exceeding the roof capacity of your own vehicle at home. So we got a few skis here and a board and a couple of extra cargo options for ourself and we're gonna start loading up here in our Grand Tour low, let's see how that goes, huh Here on the inside, you can see I fit quite a lot of my gear. Now, albeit, it's not very tall here on the inside. So, my smaller dry bags, excellent to fit in here. Something like a book bag can be great but anything like bigger than that, like a luggage option or even like a double tall backpack can start running into some issues. Now, it's great for your smaller gear items. You can see, I've got a little bit of snow boots in there, which is great, and again, our other dry bags, which is awesome. One thing that's really nice too, it is gonna have locking course on either side. And these metal handles are quite nice. You know, they're not flimsy, they are gonna be holding up quite well, which is great. And one last little thing too, about that locking core, Yakima always boasts their same key system. If you do have any other Yakima accessories you can get additional locking cores, either swapping these out, or your other accessories, and getting them keyed alike. That way you can reduce everything to one key, which is pretty cool. But all we have to do is insert this. Now, it won't allow you to remove your key in this position, which is kind of cool.
