Ground Orchid Preparing Potting Mix and Care Tips

Ground Orchid (Spathoglottis) is an evergreen beautiful flowering plant in the Orchidaceae family. It is commonly known as Philippine ground orchid, large purple orchid or 苞舌兰属 (bao she lan shu). This plant mainly native to Taiwan, Southeast India, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, Malaysia and Philippines. Ground orchid is a very easy to grow plant. In this video I'm going to show you how to make ground orchid potting mix at your home and it's care. Ground orchid potting mix ratio : 50% normal garden soil, 20% vermicompost, 10% charcoal and 20% coco peat. Charcoal and coco peat are optional, if you don't have any charcoal or coco peat then you can use garden soil and vermicompost mix. Care tips of ground orchid : 1) First tip is : Pick a container with well drainage system. 2) Second tip is potting mix : Plant your ground orchid in well drainage potting mix. 3) Third tip is light : Ground orchid don't required to much sunlight. Keep your ground orchid in low-light or partial sunlight place. 4) Fourth tip is watering : Ground orchid don't required to much water. Water your ground orchid every five to ten days , depending on the humidity in the environment. When top of the soil feels dry then water it.
