The boys and him are best friends and are close, which is a reason why Jhope asked if they were speaking formally or not. In Korea, people speak formally regardless of age in formal situations(working, having a meeting etc especially when other 3rd people are around) even though they're very close to each other and speak informally in normal situations.

@stacey_kim3 years ago You guys ask about what did j-hope meant by "informally" it's because they're close to each other which means Hoseok meant by talking to him in a friendly way not by him working to them as a manager so when he (Lee Hyun) said no he's (Lee Hyun) starting to add 'shi' (씨) at the end of their names which means Mr./Ms./ or Mrs and it can also act as a respect, your relationship to the people you're talking with and it can also indicate to someone's position like you're using 'shi' if the one you're talking to a person that has a higher position on you on your workplace. ... 49

@namin6133 years ago OMG guys 😂! The members are just messing with him and he's playing along. He actually doesn't look like “Lee Hyun” because he is Lee Hyun himself! Lee Hyun is a soloist singer under BigHit, he has been with BTS since the start, and they're very good friends, that's why they were joking a lot with him and that's why j-Hope asked if they're going to speak formally or not( as Lee Hyun was playing the manger role). But they're actually close friends.

BTS and him know each other for around 10 years, since their treinee days. That's why they were all laughing when he was calling them "mister-" and when he was using formal speech. He normally doesn't. They were pretending they didn't know each other. I mean not just a youtuber, he recently opened yt channel, he is a soloist under bighit and debuted as a member of a co-ed vocal group called 8eight in 2007 under Bighit. Him and BTS known each other for 10 years now and they are very close. That's why bts members were teasing him cause it's awkward to them him being their manager. He is also close with TXT members too. They are all close with each other as bighit music artists (like they sometimes work out together, taehyun from txt said he worked out with jungkook and before that they were talking about working out with lee hyun)

Lee Hyun is an amazing solo ballad artist of Bighit. Oldest and original artist of Bighit now Hybe and his one of the 3 artist of Bghit Music (BTS,TXT and Lee Hyun) Lee Hyun is very close to BTS esp to Jin which his fishing buddy before. @sarah355593 years ago He is actually the singer Lee hyun from bighit. he's the oldest artist under bighit which means BTS's only in house company sunbae/senior. their just teasing him here because today instead of being the hyung/older brother for BTS he's joining them as their manager. lee hyun is also a great singer. i found him through is springday cover and i have seen him talking about being really close to jin and jimin. there are pics of him ,jin and suga going fishing as well. the second episode is even more funnier. also he reacted to BTS's butter with bighit producer Pdogg and performance director/ choreographer sung-deuk (or simply son). it's really cool. in general we can conclude that BTS and lee hyun has a very good relationship with each other. ... 2

@ilovetae60953 years ago Them asking whether they can speak informally is because they've been friends for about 10 years and pretending not to know him hahah. Usually you add -shi at the end at the end of the name for formal indication. bts are close with their managers and call them hyungs. they usually call Bang Si Hyuk 'Bang PD-nim' but sometimes they'll say Hyuk hyung or Si Hyuk hyung. the difference between '-shi' and '-nim' is that 'nim' is an honourific added at the end of professions and not names. there's a really cute video of them when they heard about them being #1 on billboard hot 100 for 2 weeks for dynamite calling Bang Si Hyuk and they switch between names ... 8

@a.m.m.60113 years ago like a lot of comments have already explained, Lee Hyun, aka the one who is playing the manager role in the video, is BTS’s senior artist from BigHit, they’ve known him for over 10 years and he’s a close hyung of theirs. that’s why they meant like “oh we can’t speak comfortably to you today?” as in like speak as if he’s the manger. watching part 2 of the video will make more sense and show their closeness a bit more ... 1

@deew48253 years ago LOLLLL I lost it when ezra compared Lee Hyun to Lee Hyun hehehehehe. He's one of the older Solo artists under BigHit - BTS and Lee Hyun are very close, they sometimes even appear on the same vlives when they're in the same building!! This was just a little fun that BigHit had by making Lee Hyun the manager of BTS for the day - it's why when they began JHope asked if they could speak comfortably with him, but Lee Hyun took his role seriously as their manager and said no lol.
Now this isn't to say that BTS wouldn't treat another normal staffer with the same friendliness and comfort they greeted Lee Hyun with tho, they're humble kingss and they really do try their best to keep the energy up and know everyone!

I remember that there is one video that Jimin and Jin visited him in the waiting area before he performed. Lee Hyun is actually really close to BTS since their debut days, he'd go fishing with Jin and Suga during their day offs. He's one of the first artists under Big Hit Entertainment. If you visit his page, he, Son Sung-desk ( BTS choreographer HYBE director of performance), and PDogg BTS mega producer and writer they reacted to Butter. It’s fun. Hyunnie is older so they have to ask him if he wants to use honorifics or not.
Hyunnie has been around for 14 years. JK said he his the best singer at Big Hit. ...
