@MaxHimbigger4 years ago What the heck I never heard the difference and always thought he had just one actor. 1480
  • @
@ChaitanyaBhat217944 years ago Superman is one of the only characters who has two perfect voice actors. 1178
  • @
@lilbigfan37824 years ago They are both equally best at voicing Superman. 1260
  • @
@crpsaiyan4 years ago George Newbern's voice is a little bit higher pitched, while Tim Daly is much deeper. Both are great for the role. They each bring an interesting twist to the character. 587
  • @
@comicboybook90094 years ago Tim Daly really captures the child-like friendliness and hope of Superman, but George is good at sounding intimidating when he has to. I think Daly wins this one 599
  • @
@DoctorMinjinx4 years ago They're both extremely good. I think Tim just barely edges out George. However, I consider both to be the definitive voices of Superman, you really can't go wrong with either one of them. 478
  • @
@vastler2 years ago George is channeling Sephiroth in that scene from Superman vs the Elites 8
  • @
@calebmurphy94064 years ago George Newbern is Superman. He is the voice I hear when I read the comics. He has a mastery of every single facet of the character. He can be charming and endearing, but he can also perfectly embody a pissed off or even out right evil Superman like in the Injustice games. And a big part of why certain emotional moments work is because of his talent as a voice actor. Take the "For the Man Who Has Everything" episode as an example. Him saying goodbye to his son would not be nearly as effective if it weren't for George Newbern's talent as a voice actor. He's just...perfect. ... 376

@iceomistar43024 years ago To be honest growingup I never heard the difference 186
  • @
@axlestarr43934 years ago Tim Daly is THE Superman voice
However, unlike MANY other voice/cast changes, George Newbern was a GREAT find when Daly couldn't do it. Andrea Romano is legendary

@Mrgokujr20123 years ago They both sound so similar that I had no idea when I was a kid that the voice was changed. 24
  • @
@STAT32014 years ago Tim daly is hands down the best superman. I see him as superman just like I see Kevin conroy as batman 108
  • @
@akiyakuri4 years ago No doubt that Tim Daly is one of the best people to voice Superman but for some reason I tend to gravitate towards George Newbern more because his voice is more versatile when showing different kinds of emotion. Like in Injustice, I loved his performance because he was able to capture the essence of tyranny inside a broken man. ... 183

@TheShockVox3 years ago I prefer George. Something about him feels genuine no matter what he says, to me. People comment on how he’s good at sounding intimidating, and that’s very true. But they discount the warm moments, or even his few Clark moments. He sounds more human to me. ... 70
  • @
@brucewayneissupermanquinn601last year As a 90s kid, I grew up with both. I think Newbern had more the warm, “Im from the heartland” voice, while Daly projected more of the swagger/“I’m not taking any b.s.” attitude. 51
  • @
@Lalaxbo3 years ago Both Tim Daly and George Newbern are amazing to do the voice of Superman 🙂 35
  • @
@helioseternal25373 years ago I love both of them and the fact that they sound rather similar really helped as well. I felt that Tim being the voice of superman in the animated series was great and when they wanted to age him up a bit in justice league George fit in great! As a kid I had no clue that supermans voice had even changed lol ... 60
  • @
@viditjain26533 years ago George Newbern's voice is just perfect like Kevin Conroy'as Batman 68
  • @
@700Wolves4 years ago Literally is Sephiroth at 86
  • @
@ChrisSmithBasslast year Man both these guys are absolutely on point. Both feel like THE voice for Superman. 18
  • @
@romanlegion8331last year Superman is one of rarest examples of a character who is synonymous with 2 amazing voice actors. To an untrained ear these actors sound almost identical. It's impossible to prefer one over the other. Superman the Animated Series as well as the Justice League cartoon were both the grassroots of my childhood. ... 13

@Haxzilog2 years ago didnt even realized supes have different voice actors in the TAS and JL 3
  • @
@SWyrick3662 years ago Tim Daly is and always will be the quintessential Superman, NO QUESTION. 13

  • @
@MrDibara3 years ago Not gonna lie, I wish more stories allowed George Newbern to use his Sephiroth voice for Superman like the Elite movie. A Superman with a voice and attitude similar to Sephiroth's just sounds both terrifying and stellar levels of badass! ... 21
  • @
@Aelvir1142 years ago Newbern’s Sephiroth is showing and I love it. 4
  • @
@nemesis33923 years ago The clips you used for George were great, but I feel like you used some of the more extreme examples. Imo, the jlu episode “for the man who has everything” perfectly shows that George can give an emotional and compassionate Superman ... 30

  • @
@ResidentReveler4 years ago I like George Newbern more. Sounds more boy scout like. 34

George Newbern still my second favorite

  • @
@marckevin2034 years ago I guess Sephiroth chooses to become a hero once again.. 16
  • @
@Jordansparte4 years ago Daly by a hair. George is great too and they almost sound identical. 44
  • @
@MarcTaker4 years ago the two are definitely on a shared level with the rest of the DCAU, and for the longest time growing up, i couldn’t hear the difference between them. now that i’m older, i think i’ve figured out the biggest difference; if we use the analogy of Superman as a father figure, Daly is the supportive and wisened dad, while Newbern is the stern, disciplinary parent. it’s why i think Newbern sells the Justice Lord/Regime Superman that Daly could do, and sound great... but wouldn’t sound right. ... 29
  • @
@kellisuzuki88893 years ago damn...both their voices scream superman to me 3
  • @
@theLifeOfTeT2 years ago Superman voiced by George Newbern is a similar voice sound to Superman voiced by Tim Daly. 4
  • @
@battleframestudios8989last year Holy shit I never realized that he had 2 different voice actors. I can hear a subtle difference now between them. 2
  • @
@jeffh063 years ago There both great voice Superman! I can’t pick which the winner 3
  • @
@RadinV14 years ago After all these years I still can't decide who I like more. They are both perfect. 9
  • @
@cha_michaelmf_15043 years ago Tim Daly’s cartoon Superman sounds like a humble, compassionate person. George Newbern’s cartoon Superman is righteous and for honour, truth, and justice. And Newbern’s evil and Injustice Superman…
    …is Sephiroth.

@renz_hd7894 years ago Newbern nails the role better, he does the boyscout role very good and the rage moments are on point. 31

  • @
@christopher57979 months ago Tim Daly is clearly superior, it isn’t even a question 2
  • @
@Tonkybro34 years ago I thought they were the same actors. But i kinda grew up watching the JLA Animated series uptil now so GN for me. 13
  • @
@TJUC123last year Tim Daly always felt more like Superman to me. George Newbern is much more iconic, but I think Tim does a better job at being Superman. He has that beautiful kindness and humanity, but can still get angry. Newbern just seems like he’s mostly angry on the inside and doesn’t really feel as loving and caring as Tim does. He clearly cares, but it seems like he wishes he didn’t. He seems like a hero who doesn’t really understand why he cares so much about humanity because people suck, but nevertheless he persists to fight for truth, justice, and a better tomorrow. He honestly seems like me. 😂
Newbern is NOT a bad Superman. But he’s never different from who I feel like Superman truly is.

  • @
@DiamondBatToons2 years ago Both VA's are AMAZING Super-Men, I want them to collaborate someday (i.e. both spider-men VA's played different Spider-Men in the Edge of Time game)
I grew up with George Newbern, so to see him reprise his role in Multiversus! I couldn't be happier!

@justinesun6313 years ago George Newbern for me. Tim Daly is good, but.... I feel that Newbern had more range. 4
  • @
@or21304 years ago I refused to believe they are 2 different voice actors.. they are so great that they have become one voice, Superman's voice ! 3
  • @
@darkboy24003 years ago They sound so similar so much that you never notice. George Newbern is like that voice between the certain times Superman is voiced by Tim Daly (which is a large majority of the time). 2
  • @
@thefogandthewhirlwind2 years ago I love this video. Thank you. Both voice actors are so good for the Superman character. 3
  • @
@soakingbook4 weeks ago For whatever reason, there are few things more satisfying than excellent voice acting. And both of these guys are great.
  • @
@finnmchugh992 years ago I love how in the justice syndicate episodes of JLU you can hear the Sephiroth in him 2
  • @
@FabledHeroes33514 years ago Both sound incredibly similar but the difference here is tone and how they come off 1
  • @
@rredx083 years ago I swear they sound so much alike, it’s crazy. I didn’t know until that there were 2 different actors who voiced him for the animated shows...crazy! 3
  • @
@ruizj20062 years ago They need Tim Daly and George Newbern to voice two different supermen in the same movie 2
  • @
@datdankdj82645 days ago I love that they’re so similar that the only difference I can hear is that Tim’s voice is deeper and more controlled and compassionate while George’s voice shines when he’s either agitated or showing his power
  • @
@garzaa74814 years ago Tim Daly is amazing but i think its really who you grew up with for some people. For me, i grew up with Newbern in Justice League so I feel as if he is THE Superman. Just like Conroy is THE Batman. But man is Daly iconic 17
  • @
@luxintenebris1776last year I was today years old when I found out that Superman has two main voice actors and not one. 2
  • @
@lucidityedits2 years ago I literally had no idea until today that Tim and George were separate voices. 2

  • @
@metalmilitia18903 years ago Tim Daly is forever my superman, though I never complained about newborn. He is was pretty awesome too 1
  • @
@Independent3653 years ago Daly will probably always be my Top pick, but George seems damn near identical LOL! 6
  • @
@Randomturtletalk10110 months ago I think I can tell who your preference is seeing as how you used kind and charming clips for Daly and super dark and evil moments for Newbern lol 1
  • @
@roxas73944 years ago The last one sounds more like Sephiroth 2
  • @
@RealCFZ3 years ago Both of them did great job portraying Superman, but George Newbern is the best. Plus, he also plays another powerful fictional character who also gives a pear. 6
  • @
@thunder8987last year I think we always give a lot of credit to Kevin Conroy though it's deserved and not enough to Tim Daily or George Newman. 3
  • @
@chronicler61624 years ago Honestly there both perfect for Superman. Same as Kevin Conroy and Jason O'Mara are for Batman in my opinion 7
  • @
@scorpion40k2 years ago Man you can really hear the Sephiroth in his voice during the fight against the Elite 1
  • @
@wiIIywanka7 months ago Tim best voices superman's compassion and wisdom. The big blue boy scout who never hesitates to stand up for what's right and help those in need. George best captures superman's strength and power (Considering he voices sephiroth, makes plenty sense). The aspects that make him such a formidable opponent to those who would dare worship evil's might. Neither is better than the other. Equally important. Equally great. ... 1

@belac.howard82952 years ago Tbh I can accept that both VA are superman, just in different points on their lives 1

@doomslayer38292 years ago Both of them are my favorite superman voice actors 1

  • @
@mechajay33583 years ago JLU is where Newborn really came into his own as Superman. 2
  • @
@marmageddon86579 months ago To think george newbern voiced both the greatest hero and the most evil villain is amazing to me 2

@charlesguerrero1663 years ago OMG! This is great! They sound almost the same. 1
  • @
@SomethingWittyRW9 months ago I don't know why but for years i thought these were the same people just at different points in their lives to account for the pitch change. I guess it's just a side effect of these two voices being the ones I hear when I read superman comics. ... 1
  • @
@charleealamode95854 years ago George Newbern got all the power clips, iconic 2
  • @
@obsesstivereader212 years ago Tim Daly was the best Superman Voice Actor ever! 3
  • @
@seanmiller41707 months ago It really helped my immersion as a kid that their voices were close enough. I hear a mix of both of their voices when I read superman now
