@user-tq3ft7dd3s3 years ago the grocer grows up and moves into this cottagecore apartment with Rashidah and their child because he wants to explore what’s outside henford-on-bagley 2301

@nickbolles14063 years ago Simsie: We can make this space smaller so it's more realistic. Also Simsie: Guys, there's no room for all the cute cottage stuff. Lmao 3148

@Zandalorscat3 years ago I feel like realistically a lot of elders would have cottagecore apartments. Like they used to live in a farm and then they got old and couldn't handle the farmwork anymore. 1393

@greendragon19943 years ago Why does this make me want to see people trying to raise chickens in an apartment XD 1846

@Draeyad3 years ago A cottagecore apartment is exactly my vibe. Minimal cleaning. Lousy neighbors. But plants and ✨fairy lights✨. What could be better. 1105

@v.v3653 years ago I imagine this is the flat of an English grandma who’s just had her granddaughter move in with her, I imagine the master bedroom smells heavily of old lady perfume and the furniture sort of crackles with age when you sit in it ... 257

@wackydoggs3 years ago can i just say that i love how kayla ALWAYS has captions on her videos? as a hard of hearing person, i’m always so incredibly grateful for creators who use captions, and there’s yet to have been a lilsimsie video i’ve seen that has not had captions. thank you kayla <3 ... 79

@sleeping09beauty3 years ago Those empty boxes (especially the one in the kitchen) could be a "storage closet", pantry, or the "water heater" like in a real apartment? 99

@yazplatt3 years ago the two takes left in again made my day 😂 118
  • @
@rolandakaecak93323 years ago Missed opportunity to make a pantry out of the space filler "rooms". I feel like a pantry would've made so much sense with cottage living 61

@echolightning6043 years ago “It just looks so much” I’m pretty sure they meant for it to be that way. Lots of cottages have really busy decor with lots of floral 39

@seaurchinayano61403 years ago The fact that in reality a small apartment in "San Myshuno" is probably more expensive than an actual cottage in rural England... 🤪 84

@ayaneagano60593 years ago Simsie, it is in no way silly: I recently made an “apartment” with only having Eco Lifestyle and Tiny Living, because the apartment in Eco Lifestyle didn’t have the exact size/look I wanted; this is totally valid! 30

@justaname41363 years ago No this is actually perfect! The sim who lives here is an older lady who became a widow some 20 year ago. She's owned the apartment since 1940 so it's rent controlled. Her landlord is itching for her to pass away so he can finally make more money off the rent. ... 12

@gothempress3 years ago The word you're looking for to describe that aesthetic is "kitsch." 71

@bethoniewaring3 years ago The curtains you're talking about, we call "net curtains". And yeah they're definitely needed in Sims 10
  • @
@saraa34183 years ago When mixing patterns, floral on floral you'll want to mess with scale. Big floral + big floral is overwhelming. Big floral + ditzy floral is usually fine. Better still to go floral + plaid, floral + polka dots, or floral + stripes. Those simpler patterns are what quilters call "mixers." Another tip for mixing patterns is to keep it all in the same color family, since you're feeling hesitant about pattern mixing, maybe keep the background colors to white, yellow, or cream and you'll find it easier. You're really brave for stepping outside your comfort zone on camera and expressing that to everyone. Keep experimenting and you'll expand your comfort zone! ... 2

@CaitlinSims3 years ago a cottage core apartment is something i dream of 🥺🥺🥺 19
  • @
@Makeupwithmorgan33 years ago when mixing patterns in clothes it's common advice to put smaller patterns with bigger patterns and to not put different florals together......idk if its the same in furniture but I think this pack is an awesome chance to practice haha <3 ... 3
  • @
@squizzzel_kav3 years ago imagine if we could live in apartments anoche shops in the town square 24
  • @
@mayara_velasquez3 years ago The thing with the patterns is pick only one thing to put patterns on. If you put patterned wallpaper on the inside of your house, then you should avoid patterns on furniture like couches, chairs, rugs, curtains, beds and other stuff. If you put patterned carpet on the floor of your bedroom, then the walls should be painted on solid color. This makes the room less exaggerated and busy, and helps you understand what's actually going on there. Kayla always have the pattern problem because she puts pattern everywhere, as you can see, for example, in the kitchen: there's patterned wallpaper with a patterned rug with a patterned chairs with a pattern tablecloth. It's not because the patterns are pretty that you have to fill the room with it so it looks pretty, and I'm saying all those things in the most helpful way, seriously. ... 1

@Nia_The_Cow3 years ago A cool idea (if you didn’t do one yet like this) get a wheel with 1-10 or 1-20 or whatever. Then whatever number you land on that’s how many items you use in a room. Each room gets a different spin.
To add to a challenge you can include the wallpaper and floor as an item

@XxSallyLinnxX3 years ago The fireplace thing, I always do it with the Cats & Dogs fireplace and one of the flat screens. It looks mounted and just *chef's kiss*.
  • @
@CandyBlk953 years ago In the uk we tend to only put busy wallpaper on one wall (main wall) as like a feature wall and then paint the rest in a neutral or soft solid colour, you could try that to make the patterns work better for you :)

@DevonDowner3 years ago I feel exactly the same way with all the patterns. I spent an hour and a half making a new sim yesterday and then several more hours trying to build a tiny starter home. I changed the patterns of everything about a hundred times before I ended up going with solid colors LOL. ...

@limedovahkiin28063 years ago Kayla you're so hard on yourself and everything you do looks great!
  • @
@brenda00063 years ago This apartment is kinda my vibe, maybe a little more earth tones and a little less floral, but the cottage living pack is definitely for me 😁 I think you did great even though it was out of your comfort zone!
  • @
@ShadoeLandman3 years ago I think one of the problems is the bed needs more stripes/checks/plaid options. That would allow the colors to match, but not cause excessive floral overload. Same for the rug.
  • @
@katelynnelawson36853 years ago honestly i think it does fit the city living vibe, very nyc pre-war rent stabilized apartment that's been in the family for 50 years

@guitarplayedbadly3 years ago Hey Kayla, I know you reviewed Twisted Mexi’s better build buy mod before, but I wanted to let you know it’s been updated so that builds are no longer marked as being cc when they aren’t when uploaded to the gallery!
The mod will be super beneficial to your builds and categorizes things in both debug and live edit to be found in appropriate categories. As I’m watching your latest video, you mentioned bringing a sim into the lot to change the lighting - the mod has been updated to include this feature in build mode!
I just wanted to let you know all this because I think it will benefit you, and could be a staple in your mods folder like MCCC and UI extension cheats, which I have in my game too.
Take care, and congrats on your engagement!

@Rousina3 years ago ok but I actually love this apartment. Although I liked what you had going before with the planter boxes in the window and the bed in the OG position. but either way it's real cute.

@megspice893 years ago Seeing this while the pack is now out somehow makes it even better
  • @
@erdbeermilchfreak3 years ago The whole apartment is so adorable 💖
I really hope your comments will be heard by Maxis so that the next update will contain curtains and carpets maybe. 😍 This cottage styled apartment would be perfect for the teenagers which want to live in the city so badly. But like they're taking the landhouse style with them as the boy maybe didn't know anything else before 😅❣️ ...

@kahliestringer37413 years ago video idea ? idk. you could try build a house where every room is based on a different animal. like one would be a fox, another a bunny. and you could use the spinny wheel thing to decide which animal for which room to make it harder ... 4

@skyechimes6583 years ago Instead of totally closing off that former bathroom with platforms, once you have all your packs back, I would put a big get together walk in closet there. Like it’s the hall closet and most of the storage for this small apartment. ...
  • @
@ZombieOfMistlast year Tbf, having an irl cottagecore apartment isn't as silly as you'd think! I have a very fairycore one myself and it's all about working on decorating it to get the feeling of a cottage, until you look out the window haha ...
  • @
@bbear26953 years ago my grandmas house had wallpaper when i was a kid. busy wallpaper in every room, so its kind of nostalgic. i doubt patterned walls were ever intended to be viewed from the top with no roof, all at once
  • @
@wa11ie3 years ago simsie: complains about how all of the different patterns are too much

@avivamdur29693 years ago Sometimes it easier to balance out the wallpaper by just putting it on one wall and making the rest one of the colors found in the wallpaper design. That way you can use the wallpaper without the whole room becoming a pattered mess ...

@lovelyseydel3 years ago Hey simsie! It’s your fan here. Honestly, cottage living pack with the city living looks very silly 😂 I do enjoy watching you build tho, you are very creative. I think you should use cottage living in a RV house. I seen so much cute ideas made that way. Love your work 💗 ...
  • @
@soleilrondenet39643 years ago Hey simsie!!!!! I was wondering if you can maybe do a series of making builds with just bass game and all the packs for example one video would be making a Base game/cottage living house
