My account of participating as a Plaintiff on, "The People's Court," a televised show in which a pretend judge (aka Marilyn Millian) oversees a pretend court and renders decisions on real-life, small-claim cases. Judge Millian is not an actual judge in a court of law, but an arbitrator in an informal arbitration (which the show misleads viewers to believe is an actual trial). I only agreed to participate in this arbitration after being misled to believe that I would receive a fair and impartial hearing, in compliance with existing standards of arbitration. This video discusses my experience on the show and my perspective (as a licensed attorney) of the "arbitration" which they show claims to provide.
